Any address is real
Type a name and send. Every syntactically valid local part works immediately; plus-tags and dots stay distinct. Want privacy by obscurity? generate_address and 1mail new create unguessable names (about 60 bits of randomness).
MCP · CLI · API · no key
Give your agent an inbox in one tool call. 1mail.dev is public, inbound-only email it can read over MCP, a CLI or an API, with no signup and no key. The agent creates an address, waits for the verification mail and reads the code. You can watch the same inbox in the browser. Twenty-four hours later, it’s gone.
Public, even when it’s yours. Anyone who knows the address can read it. Never point it, or an agent, at anything sensitive or any account you care about.

01 / What it is
One inbox, four ways in: MCP for agents, a CLI for scripts, an API for test runners, a viewer for humans. No sandbox, no key, no invoice.
Type a name and send. Every syntactically valid local part works immediately; plus-tags and dots stay distinct. Want privacy by obscurity? generate_address and 1mail new create unguessable names (about 60 bits of randomness).
wait_for_message matches on sender or subject. wait= holds an API or CLI call for up to 30 s, and each call counts as one read. ETag/304 and since_id keep polling cheap.
1mail never sends, replies or forwards. It cannot become an outbound spam vector — or a surprise in your test.
OpenAPI 3.1 to generate clients from, llms.txt for agents that read docs, RFC 9457 errors. Messages expire 24 h after arrival, and there is no delete endpoint to race.
