Docs

Hand-written and curl-first: a read-only API, a remote MCP server for AI agents, and a curl-installable CLI — all bounded by the same published limits. No keys, no SDK, no signup.

Every inbox at 1mail.dev is public. Anyone who knows the address can read it. Never use these addresses for anything sensitive — or any account you care about.

Overview

Base URL https://api.1mail.dev/v1 · read-only · no keys · machine-readable contract: /openapi.json (client + types + schemas generate from it).

API

Three read-only GET endpoints — list, one message, raw — with strong-ETag/304 polling and a wait long-poll that holds the call for mail. Errors are RFC 9457 problem+json.

MCP

The same reads as tools for AI agents — list, get, raw, generate an address, wait for mail. One remote MCP server: streamable HTTP, stateless, no key.

1mail CLI

The same reads as one curl command, without writing the curl — one static binary for macOS & Linux, arm64 and x64.

Limits

The published numbers that bound every client: reads per inbox and per IP, inbound per sender, message size, retention, and the inbox cap.
